Beat stopped in his tracks for a moment, ears flicking around slightly. He heard that. His large ears made it easy for him to hear sounds inaudible to most. He turned his head when he heard some faint footsteps. HE sat there and stared into the nothingness of the forest for awhile, the turned to the group again. He couldn't help but to feel like someone else was nearby. Heck, maybe these two felt this way right before he spooked 'em. Gliding over to catch up with the two, Beat continued to stare off commonly, sometimes even letting out a low growl. " Let's pick up the pace. Don't ask why. "
With nothing more to go on than “into the dark forest”, Gyasi thought they may as well keep walking. But there was that odd feeling again like they were being watched. He sighed inwardly. After Beat’s abrupt arrival, he found another set of eyes to be more annoying than intimidating. Besides, there were three of them. He doubted they would have much trouble in a battle.
So Gyasi picked up the pace and walked his little stubby feet alongside the other’s long legs, and didn’t bother to ask “why” as he already knew.
As they went deeper into the forest, fuller trees arched overhead, and their thick web of leaves began to block out more and more sunlight. “If anyone spots anything interesting or big-rock shaped, shout.” He stated, despite its obviousness.
[ I should probably close this thread for joining before we get more people xD ]
Crayton followed, but the whole time he felt something was there. What made it worst was the fact that it was getting darker in the forest. It all reminded him of when he was younger, and had ran off. His tongue went over his chipped tooth, reminding him a bit more of the memory that haunted him. Then there was the paranoia that settled in not long after the memory. It wasn't because the memory had risen, but he could feel eyes watching him like he did earlier, when Beat had startled him and Gyasi. When Beat said that they should pick up the pace, Crayton gave a brief nod and began to speed up his pace. He began to sniff the air, smelling a few unfamiliar scents that were not his companions.
"Something is definitely here," Crayton whispered, not wanting to let this something know that he could smell it.
Raiden quickened his pace to match theirs, his footfalls soft on the lush forest floor. They appeared to be spooked. He wasn't suprised, the feeling that someone was watching was instictual, and with the noiverns hearing and the mightyenas sense of smell, they likely had a hint that he was there. The forest steadily thickened as they traveled, growing darker and more dense. Raiden began to feel more and more at home in the darkness and thick concealment, and his golden eyes, armbands and tail star began to almost . . . glow in the darkening light. The thick undergrowth made it easier for him to hide and masked his sound further, and with his sharp sight and the ability to see through the foilage, he began to feel more cool, confident and at ease. He was well at home in this kind of terrain, and he began to edge his way closer to the trio, fading closer through the brush.
Well, Beat could use the stamina he had left to possibly carry the group to safety, although he probably would not be able to carry the two for long. If.. Whatever this is was hostile and had some ranged moves, they could be in trouble if they took the aerial path. Well, Beat had just about enough of this stalking. His short temper and pride always seemed to get the better of him in these situations. He turned and stopped to what he believed the sounds to be coming from, then raised his head and fired a Dragon Pulse. It was more of a gentle attack this time, not fully charged or anything. Beat wanted whatever this was to know that he would gladly attack it if he had to.
" That -should- solve it.For now... Hopefully. " Beat expected the mystery pokemon to either dodge it somehow or take the attack. As stated before, Beat put minimal effort into the attack so it would only sting.
Gyasi watched the darkness for movement. His eyes, while not the best, were better than most at seeing in little light. He could make out shapes, mostly that of bushes and trunks. There was one that was different from the rest. Beat seemed to have seen it too, and released a weak move in its direction.
Gyasi prepared himself. Whether this battle would be close or long rang, he could hold his own. Just because he was the only one still in his first evolution didn’t mean he was weak.
Crayton followed, up until the Dragon Pulse was fired. He watched as the ring went out, searching for their stalker. He hoped that it would find the pokemon that was around here, if not Crayton could always sniff them out. "If not, I can sniff then out, if this something is dangerous, we can't have them follow us. Especially in a dark place where they can hide," Crayton replied. The mightyena then pricked his ears up, he wanted to hear the pokemon if it made any movement. He was hoping that the noise would be enough for Crayton to know the location of this stalker.
Raiden heard the and saw the dragon pulse erupt, and made a quick decision on whether or not to avoid it. By how quickly it had been fired, he guessed it wasn't powerful, just a warning shot. Tensing, he bounded forward, the dragon pulse hitting him weakly, like a sting of a newly hatched weedle. His bound took him into their sight, almost directly before the trio, and as his paws landed he began to charge electricity, sparks jumping through his fur. As soon as his back legs hit ground he leapt again, this time high, over the head of the larvitar. Mid air he discharged, a weak one, returning the noiverns dragon pulse, striking all three with a weak jolt of electricity, only a little worse then shocking oneself with static. Well, discharge, by nature hit all three, but he really knew that only the mightyena and noivern would feel it, but the effect would be the same. He landed behind the larvitar and bounded forward again, dissapearing into the nearby foilage again, though this time he had no intentions of stealth. A few more bounds took. Him into a clearing with a large rock in the center of it. Here he stopped, turning to await their pursual.
(OOC: the rock isn't neccesarily the mossy rock unless you want it to be.)
Beat let out a screech as he took into the air to dodge the Discharge. HE was guessing that it was just about as strong as the warning Dragon Pulse he shot earlier, but he had so save every bit of stamina he had- just in case. Letting out a loud roar at the Luxray, Beat landed back on the ground as it ran back into the woods. Beat had now been set in a pretty bad mood. He scrunched up his nose and stared in the direction the electric pokemon ran off. " Tsk. Stalkers. Anyways, do we attack? Your call... But I sorta do wanna give that guy a Boomburstin' "
Gyasi was certain the Luxray knew he was immune to electricity. Still, he couldn’t stop the grin from spreading on his face. This was a battle he could win.
It wasn’t like he had anything to prove to the others, but still Gyasi really wanted to show off. With Crayton’s good nose and Beat’s overall imposingness, Gyasi kind of felt like, well, just the book guy. But larvitar could be powerful and… mensing too.
That’s why he started yelling. “You think you can just jump us like that?!” He ignored Beat’s hypocrisy and picked up a large nearby rock. “You looking for a battle?!"
Gyasi found himself longing for the day he’d at last be a tyranitar.
Crayton saw the Luxray jump above and of course the electricity. Crayton moved quick to get of the worst of it, but unfortunately he was practically trapped due to the thick undergrowth and his lack of wings. He felt the shock enter his body, making him feel his muscle contract until it left. Leaving Crayton stinging after the attack, but of course it wasn't easy to defeat the mightyena. Crayton took a few moments and listened to the threats of Beat and Gyasi. However, he remained silent, waiting for the answer to come from the Luxray.
Raiden listened to the larvitar's shouts and the noiverns roar with an impassive calmness. It appeared that they were willing and eager to do battle. If it was their wish to do battle then he would oblige. But, he would have to proceed cautiosly, for one of his opponents could fly, and one was a ground type, not to mention it would be a three vs. one fight. It would not be a failure to lose against such odds, but that didn't mean he had any plans of losing. Rearing on his hind legs, he roared out his battle cry in response, his cry spiraling out. He watched the edge of the clearing for the three, balancing on his hind legs, his tail swishing behind him. He also made sure to spare a few glances up, as he would not underestimate the noivern either.
Beat still had not received a reply from either of his comrades. Landing back on the ground, Beat held his wings up as he used his Moonlight move, healing a few bumps and bruises he had received awhile ago. His ears began to glow since he was now holding back a Boomburst attack. He just had to be careful about any ice type moves this guy may have, as he was very weak to the type. " So, is that a yes or a no? "
Gyasi’s head said “yes”. The guy stalked them, attacked them, and seemed only to be preparing for battle. He wasn’t there for tea, that was for sure.
“I guess so.” Gyasi grunted, giving the rock a lob.
It wasn’t his full strength, but he put more into it than the other pokemon had. He was getting tiered to this stalemate. This was his last chance to back down.
Crayton's ears remained pricked as he waited for a command. Whoever this was didn't seem too keen on speaking, making the command to attack rise. Crayton noticed the attack by Gyasi, so he waited. He wanted an opening to go in close up, but he couldn't allow himself to take unnecessary hits from his companions. Then watch him, know how he fights, Crayton thought, giving himself an idea. With that, the mightyena waited on the side lines to see what would happen. His arsenal of mostly physical attacks would do him no good at the moment, and he knew that, thus the wait.
