Moonlight dimly lit the beach, making a few features of the rocks noticeable. The sun hadn't gone down too long ago, but that told Ava to wander to Starlight Beach. She had heard many things about the beach, one those things being about the star gazing.
Two pokemon had been casually talking about the night before, when Ava's ears picked up on it. This made the young Liepard want to venture towards the pale sands of Starlight Beach. The main reason was that she loved star gazing, since the tiny spheres sparkled in the sky.
Her bag hung loosely around her neck as she walked down onto the pale sands. The sand was cold, but it didn't bother Ava. It just reminded her of the star gazing in Breezy Plains, where there were chilling night breezes that crept up her spine.
Ava glanced about the beach, her emerald eyes searching for any other pokemon to be about. Her eyes saw nothing, but it was nothing more then a quick glance. She trotted out into the open, before sitting down on the sand.
Her head looked up and her mouth opened with awe at the splendid view above. The moonlight made it so less stars were visible, but what the two pokemon had said was correct. The view was truly splendid, and with a smile upon her face, Ava sat there, alone.
Giraffi walked out from behind the bush. He looked at his map again. "Sooo... if I keep on going straight, I should hit Starlight Beach..." he began. He saw the water. "So, I guess this is Starlight Beach," he said, breath taken. He put his map in his gigantic pouch filled with poke and fruit and medicine. He was a merchant. He was gonna start in Moonlight Village.
When night fell, Pan shed her previous skin for something a little more befitting the mood. The lampet floated lazily along the sandy cost, blue light dimmed and dancing along with the stars above and the moonlight reflected off the steady waves in low tide.
What she could see of the beach was empty, peaceful and clear to match the mood. This was exactly what she needed after a long day like today. She still couldn’t believe how irritable that primeape was. All she’d said was he shouldn’t post problems he could solve himself on the board - if he wanted a gem from the dungeon to impress the girl, he should go get it himself. The whole thing would have escalated to a brawl if the crowd and a nearby pidgey hadn’t given her means of escape. And then there was that incident where some hoppip thought she’d stolen something because she’d transformed into the supposed convict without knowing.
There’d been a lot of running today.
But that was over. Now she had only float, leisurely spinning, on the quiet beach, and be peaceful with the world. She found her eyes to be heavy and herself softly humming a popular tune. She heard a noise in the bushes, and ahead of her, saw a dark figure, seemingly with a similar idea. Rather than changing her course, Pan let herself drift over.
Her momentum carried her around who she realized to be a liepard, but she let it wane and settled a causal two feet from her side.
“Nice night, huh?” Pan said, her voice soft from the day and still somewhat carrying the tune.
In the midst of the starry sky and ocean, a Dratini had been swimming around in the starlit sea for awhile, sometimes popping his head out of the water to poke at a beach ball he had brought along with him. The Starlit beach was Alph's favorite place to hang out, especially at night. It took some intensive stealth to get out of the nursery at night, but it was all worth it just for the view.
Wrapping his serpentine body around the beach ball to stay above the water for awhile, Alph stared up at the sky for awhile, then turned his head to see a few pokemon at the coast of the beach. Startled a bit, Alph quickly hopped of the beach ball and back into the ocean. He didn't want anyone reporting him back to the nursery. He would be grounded for sure!
Ava was enjoying the specter above her head. The glimmer of each little star as it sparkled in the sky above. This put a smile on her face, and made her green eyes gleam with wonder.
Her attention was fully on the sky, making her unaware of the pokemon around her, until a lampet took her attention. The lampet had a nice, soft voice, and seemed rather kind. "Yeah, I love watching the stars." Ava admitted. That was when she noticed everything else.
She noticed the rustling from behind her as a girafferig wondered through the small bits of bush, and the bobbing of a creature. "Lots of pokemon here to, and I thought I was the only one." Ava said, a bit surprised by the amounts of pokemon.
Giraffig looked around. He saw a Lieperd. He hid behind the bush, his big pouch full of poke and items bulging out. "Dang it," he muttered as he tried to stuff it down the bush next to him. He peeked out. There was a lampent and the lieperd talking, and a dratini swimming nearby. That wasn't a sight he saw every day.
How lucky to have stumbled upon someone friendly. Three someones, she hoped, but Pan would find it odd for someone to be mean under these stars. Her mind wandered to what mean pokemon did in their free time. Yell at trees? Probably just normal things like shopping and eating, but grumpily. Were mean pokemon always grumpy? Probably not, what a sad life. She wondered if seeing the stars and the oceans would make them happy.
Pan waved her long, flat arm to both of the other pokemon, one a girafarig and the other she couldn’t yet make out. “Come on over!” She called. Tonight was the kind of night where company could only make things better.
The sea air was bringing in a soft wind, giving the dark sky and tranquil air a bit of a chill. The sand, while not wet, had lost a lot of the heat it had gained in the sun.
“You know what would really be great? A campfire.” She hummed, spinning lazily in a circle. “As an idea.”
Alph was a bit timid still. He did not want the adults back at the nursery to know he was missing. They probably noticed by now though... Knowing now he had nothing to loose, Alph grabbed the beach ball in his mouth, pulling it under the surface of the water. He soon resurfaced closer to shore, pushing the beach ball onto shore. The serpentine pokemon soon slithered out of the water as well, shaking his head to send some water flying off of him. Still rather nervous about the larger pokemon, Alph lowered his head and stared up at the two " Um, H-hi. "
Ava could feel the eyes of the girafarig on her back. She didn't mind though, she hadn't done anything wrong, and she hadn't been caught before. Then she heard the lampet call them over, and smiled.
Ava didn't usually get to talk to other pokemon, and a party of four sounded like a good idea. "Yeah, come over." Ava called, backing up the lampet's idea. Soon after, the lampet suggested a campfire, and that made Ava smiled more.
"Lets do it." Ava agreed. That was when she noticed the young pokemon, just a kid that reminded her of her meeting with the duskull kid. However, the liepard didn't mind that the kid was still out and about, who knew, maybe they were allowed.
[hope you don't mind if i join] Skullos floated along the water, giggling at the fact that he had escaped the nursery again. He looked around. Nobody. He went around the corner and froze. He heard talking. He listened and saw a dratini in the water. He laughed quietly. He dissapeared and reappeared behind the dratini. "Boo," he whispered. He turned invisible. He knew that the other pokemon around the dratini had seen him. But when he looked up he saw ava!
The two pokemon, and another guest, had agreed to come join them. Best of all, the bill of fire was passed. Pan scooped up several pieces of nearby driftwood in her long, flat, and honestly kind of difficult arms, and dropped them in a pile in what she deemed to be the perfect spot. A flame burst had the pile lit and a bit of stroking had the fire crackling.
“You know, I heard this legend once,” Pan said idly, “about a pokemon that washed up on the beach one night. Kinda like you!” She said, motioning to the young dratini. “Except that night it poured so hard no one dared to go outside and thunder boomed so loudly even the strongest pokemon hid under the covers. The next morning a young adventurer went out for a walk by the seaside and found a young eevee unconscious on the beach! Anyone else heard this story?”
The lampet tossed another piece of driftwood onto the fire. Embers drifted into the sky, disappearing into the stars above.
Alph was about to say something before hearing a voice behind him. " Boo. " Alph let out a startled squeak, then quickly used Extremespeed to dash back into the ocean. He poked his head above the water somewhat, pulling his beach ball a bit closer for protection. Well whatever spooked him seemed to be gone. ( Or invisible ) Slithering back out of the water with his ears lowered somewhat, Alph now stayed a few feet away from the group. His ball was still very close to him, since it was pretty much the only thing Alph really trusted at the moment.
He inched forward every now and then, but the Dratini seemed to be pretty intrigued by the ditto-Lampent's story. Alph always wanted to grow up to be an adventurer, although most would say that he's far too timid and paranoid to do so- Mainly because he really has not lightened up around anyone yet. He spoke in his usual light voice in a rather quiet, but audible, tone. " N-no, don't think I've heard it before. Go on if you want. "
Adami grinned, bounding through the grass. Such a nice night, it would really be a shame to waste it in the nursery. Not a single cloud blotted the stary night sky, and it was pleasantly warm. He paused as he caught sight of a gentle glow by the beach, and he headed towards it, intrigued. Bouncing into the little campfire area, he promptly sat down, taking a place by the fire as if he belonged there the whole time. Watching the lampet through his smiling eyes, he waited patiently. A story? Fantastic. He had got here just in time then!
[ xD Largest amount of people in one thread, I am not even gonna close this. xDD ]
Ava watched a few more pokemon began to gather around. Then she heard the phrase 'boo' and turned her head to see the duskull again. The reason why Ava wasn't startled this time was because of the sheer amount of pokemon around.
This didn't mean that she wasn't going to speak up. "You know, if you keep scaring the pokemon around here, I may just have to give Chansey the heads up that you've been doing so." Ava said to the duskull.
She usually didn't blackmail pokemon, but she wanted the evening to be nice and calm. She then heard the fire crack up and the beginning of the tale. She hadn't heard this story before, making her curious about it. "I haven't heard it before, so I say continue." Ava answered, wrapping her tail around her paws.
