Rows of doors stood before Brasti as he walked down the call of Cell Block B. The prison guard's brown eyes darted back and forth from row to row. The job didn't seem tough, but once a few prisoners have to be escorted to the cafeteria or other locations, it can get rough. It wasn't that prison fights were a daily occasion, but every once and a while here would be one mischievous criminal who would pick one. Brasti's job was to break up the fight, or not allow it to happen. He was maybe still a buizel, but it was from his own choice.
He passed a few more cells, until he came to one of the cells. This cell was different, mostly because he knew very well who was on the other side of the iron door. His til twitched with annoyance from the idea of the pair escaping, even if it was highly unlikely. Brasti decided to pause here and listen for any roughhousing in the cells, it was the best way after all. If the prisoners thought he was gone, perhaps they would do what they normally did when he or any other guards weren't around.
Ivy grinned. The guard was here. She motioned at her brother to go on with their plan. "Ohh... so we're escaping through the south wing? How unpredictible!" she said, her voice acting like she was saying the truth. She grinned, they were going to escape through the NORTH wing. Not the SOUTH wing... She motioned for her brother to talk.
Rifu lay curled on the floor as if he was tired, but he remained well alert, one eye opened lazily to watch his sister. Irritantly he grumbled back at her. "Yeah, the south wing, we went over this already." The guard was here, and they were finally ready to put their plan into motion. He had been trapped in this dismal confining cell too long, and longed for the sweet freedom of outside again, but in order to get there he needed to remain alert. They had been patiently planning this, now they just had to follow through . . . He raised his head, a small smirk creeping onto his face. Ad libbing always added to the realism. "Y'know, maybe those rumors about some pokemon having minds rot away while they're in prison is true. I mean, you were always a little slow, but now? I mean, honestly . . ."
The last thing Brasti expected to hear was an escape plan being talked over. It somewhat surprised him, but he wasn't objecting to listening to the plan. From what Brasti could hear, it was that they planned to escae throughthe south wing, and that they have talked over this plan before. A small smirk appeared on Brasti's face, he knew one of the plans, but he didn't know how yet. Almost got you, Brasti thought to himself. The prison guard ignored any of the other voices and listened more closely to this conversation between the prisoners in the cell.
Despite knowing that the two on the other side of the door were tricky, he stilled listen. Information was information after all and any tidbits could be useful for keeping the pokemon of Lunar Island safe. That is why he remained where he was for the time being, his eyes scanning the hallway every few moments.
Ivy smirked. "Well, we gotta get ready for tonight. Get some sleep," she said, her voice betraying her true thoughts. He has no idea.... she thought. She walked over to her brother. She lay down, she curled her tail around herself and her brother. What a fool.. she thought. She grinned at the thought of escaping. Ahh... the sweet smell of the outside. What a wonderful thought.... She fell asleep.
Rifu listened carefully. The footsteps still hadn't resumed. The buizel was still there, soaking in all of their conversation. "Sure" Rifu responded to his sister, his jests apparently ignored for now, though he imagined she would get her revenge on him later. After they were free. Freedom. Grass beneath his feet again, wind brushing against him. He could imagine it all already. Almost as an unconscious habit, he had tugged his everstone out from under him and played with it in his hands. It was the only item they had allowed him to keep on him, for obvious reasons. But, both he and Ivy had figured out where they stored prisoners items, so that too would be amended. Tucking the stone under him, he curled up again, his sister curling around him. Either way, the last part of what she had said was true, and he all but fell asleep, keeping himself awake only until he could hear the guards footsteps continue and fade.
Brasti had heard enough, and he kept the presumed time in his mind, but that didn't mean he would stay in that area all day. The most he would do is mark it down as a place to head during his rounds, the issue being that his rounds may just become more frequent. The buizel's mind began to plan out his strategy, before he moved on from that cell. He couldn't linger there all day, there were more than two prisoners planning an escape, if he were to guess. That's what Brasti thought when he left, but he could always round back if he felt something bad was going to happen.
If you stay in one place all day you can't catch them in the act, Brasti though, and if they get caught they could get transferred. The one thing the guard wondered was how they were going to get out of that cell. That was when his mind snapped into another focus, this time thinking more tactically, and mapping out the prison. They were in the north-eastern wing of the prison, the south was pretty far from here, so how exactly did they plan not to get caught? Brasti began to presume he hadn't heard something, but the idea of not knowing kept him on his toes.
Ivy grinned. "Hey, Rifu, get up. It's time," she said. She grinned impishly. She paused to listen for guards. She got up. She pulled herself through a small crack in the wall, which was really a big hole they had opened with vine whip. She did a final whip on their side and the other, and pulled herself out of the cell. "C'mon," she said, gesturing for her brother to get out.
Rifu stirred at his sisters voice, red eyes blinking open. Now was the time. They were finally going to escape. Remember the plan. Uncurling himself, he stood, quietly making his way to the bars facing the hallway of the cell. No guards were in the hallway. He had been steadily chipping away a thin cut in a few of the bars with a leafblade, and with a final cut the remaining sliver of connected bar was gone. The bars remained in place, but he knew that they could now be easily moved or broken with just one swift strike. Time for their distraction. His tail hardened and took on a metallic shine as he charged iron tail, and then with a decisive smack he broke the already cut through bars. Quickly he dashed to the back of the cell and through the crack after his sister, nodding to her as he passed. Time too move, and fast. It might not take long for the guards to figure out they had went the other way, or that they weren't going south at all.
Brasti hadn't been far down the hall when he heard the clang of bars bounce off the wall. The guard had only just gone around the corner, and was soon turning back to see what the racket was about. He ran back to the hall, looking at the each of the cells. Something had happened, and it was pretty clear by the ruckus. Brasti's eyes scanned until he saw the broken bars in one of the cells, and it wasn't a pleasant idea at all, for him at least. His eyes scanned the cell, seeing that the criminals had disappeared. This is rotten, now I have to go in there and check it out, Brasti thought.
He grabbed the key ring from his bag, shuffling through the keys until he found the correct key. He was trying to be quiet, in case he couldn't see them and to keep the attention off him. With that, the prison guard put the key in the hole, turned it, and finally entered the broken cell.
Ivy smacked a vent in the ceiling. It opened up. They couldn't have busted throught the back door, so they had decided to go throught the vents to the outside. She hoisted herself up. "C'mon," she said as she squeezed throught the vent. It was a good thing they were snakelike. She slithered throught the vent and popped out the other side of the wall through the vent. She waited for her brother to catch up. She looked in her small pouch she had found. The map to escape was gone! Probably in the cell.
Rifu managed to grab the edge of the entrance to the vent and hoisted himself up after his sister. The crawlspace was cozy, and while he was quite comfortable, he imagined his sister felt squished. Heh, if she were any bigger, she might not have fit at all! His grin faded though as his sister began to search more and more desperately for their escape route may. The search proved fruitless. She must have left it in the cell. "Shall we guess it or retrieve it then?" They both knew how risky it would be to go back now, but to continue forward blindly would lead to them most likely getting lost, trapped, and recaptured.
Brasti's eyes were looking about the cell, making sure that an ambush wouldn't occur. He had read in book how guards foolishly go into the cell and trapped inside by a witty prisoner. Brasti could only hope that he wasn't about to be added to that list anytime soon. As his eyes scanned the dull cell, they found a paper down on the floor of the cell. Brasti, curious as he was, decided to see what the paper. With that he stepped closer, going deeper into the cell, until he was able to grab the paper. Once he flipped it over, he found what the prisoners truly intended and how they planned to get out of here.
The map was of the venting system in the prison, and showed the pair's escape route. Of course they lied, but how did they get out of this cell? Brasti thought. His eyes drifted left to see a crack in the wall, they had to have used that. It would be too cramp to fight in their, I should maybe head to where they plan to get out, but why leave such a crucial piece of evidence? Brasti wondered as his focus turned back to the map in his paws.
