Quni nodded and and looked at the map one more time. "I think it's this way," he said pointing with his paw to the north. Quni folded the map and put it neatly back in his bag. "Let's go and find ourselves the magnet!"
Suddenly more confident Quni began walking north, sticking close to the lake shore. As he walked his stomach gave another growl. This time it was rather loud. Sure Beatrice heard it he blushed. "Hehe, I haven't eaten since this morning before I left," he said, feeling a little embarrassed. "After we get to the river you want to stop and eat?" Quni asked, hoping she would say yes.
Her eyes followed Quni's paw, scanning the area ahead for any sort pf hazards. Beatrice waited until Quni began to walk north, then followed after him. The glaceon only had a rough idea of where they were heading, but she figured that Quni would know the way.
Her ears flicked again when they picked up the sound rumbling, but this time louder. Glancing back at Quni, she listened to his reasonable explanation about why he was hungry. Then listened to the offer, but Beatrice hadn't brought anything with her, and had even quickly eaten before she had rushed out here. Despite not having any reason to stop herself, she figured that having a break at the river would be lovely.
"Sure, I ate before I left, but I don't mind having a break." Beatrice answered, a kind smile extended across her face. Her blue eyes then returned to scanning, noting any sorts of land marks in the area.
Quni nodded and they carried on north. All the while Quni kept glancing at the lake through little undergrowth there was. He couldn't help but look. It was just that spectacular of a sight.
After a while Quni could hear the swishing sounds of the river and picked up the pace. He burst through the bushes and stared in surprise and awe. Thus part of the river was gorgeous! With the rocks and slopes and water so clear he could see the bottom of it. Of course the part of the river closest to the village was just as beautiful.
His stomach ached again and finally sat down. Quni set his bag down in front of him and opened the flap. The smell of apples and jelly beans was overwhelming his mouth watered. He took one out then another and held it out for Beatrice. "I know you said you ate before you left but you can have one of my apples or even some of my jelly beans," Quni offered.
The sounds of running water chimed through the air like a calming song. This song caused Beatrice to smile, and listen further to the noise that was in the air. Her ears then picked up the noise of quick-paced footsteps, making her turn and see Quni burst ahead through the bushes.
She simply smiled, and began to run after him, breaking through the bushes. Once through, her blue eyes feasted upon the gorgeous majesty that was Slumbering River. Her eyes scanned the clean water, seeing rocks coating the sides, and few at the bottom due to erosion. She turned her head when she heard Quni talk, giving her an offer.
The glaceon wasn't all the hungry, and she knew that she could just get something herself if she was. "I'll be fine." Beatrice answered with a smile. She then turned back to the river, watching the current flow.
"Oh, okay," Quni said little hurt by the refusal. She could of at least said no thank you or something. Quni put the apple he offered to give to Beatrice back in his bag. With his own apple in his paws he began to eat and savor the delicious fruit. Apples are his favorite kind of fruit and could eat just them all his life.
Once he finished his apple he got to his paws, licking his lips of the juice. Belly full, Quni felt a lot better and more energized to find that magnet. "Alright! Let's find that magnet," he said, pumped.
