[ All of Crayton's attacks are close range, except snarl... Also, they should like tie so it's intense, but funny. ]
Crayton was a close combat fighter, mostly because his moves involved being close. The merchant began to think about what he should do while Pluto was getting ready. The mightyena lowered himself, preparing to run, since he was rather fast. When the words went into the air, Crayton charged forward, his speed being significantly fast. The mightyena planned to use bite, since his teeth were rather sharp. He planned to bite on to the fin on the top of the mudkip's head.
[ ... Posting is difficult cause me no want to power-play. ]
Sadly Pluto didn't get the lunge he was looking for, just a head on run. Pluto let out the jet of water anyways, hoping to at least throw Crayton off his course. Considering how all of Pluto's attacks were long ranged he wanted to keep the mightyena far enough away that any close range attacks he might have couldn't hit. Pluto couldn't think of what attacks mightyenas' had. He remembered looks, but apparently not stats. Pluto darted to the side to keep a distance. Then began to plan his next attack and some counters for what might come.
Crayton didn't expect the water gun that propelled him backwards. There was a little pain where the water had his Crayton, right in the chest. However the mightyena was quick to recover, and when the water disappeared, he managed to land on his paws. Not all of Crayton's moves were close ranged, just a majority of them and that led to one plan. The mightyena lowered himself and released a snarl, but it wasn't just any snarl. A black ring formed and expanded out from the mightyena's location. The move was difficult to dodge, but it was possible.
Pluto, not being able to jump or duck enough to get away from the black ring was hit head on and the noise made Pluto drop. It was stunning. Noises like that sucked. Pluto was back on his feet pretty quickly though and shot off ice beams all over the ground, not specifically aiming for Crayton, but rather the ground all around them. He wanted to make movement hard. That way if Crayton got knocked back then it would be harder to get up. The same went for him, but Pluto was pretty good at getting up off of ice.
Crayton was pleased to see his attack hit, but he hadn't expected the ice beam, but it wasn't aimed at him. The shot was aimed at the ground, making sheets of slippery ice over the once grassy area. This was going to make it difficult, but Crayton was going to have to do something about. This ice wouldn't be good for him to charge on and hit the mudkip with his close ranged attacked. Then a thought came to mind, and a small amount of darkness formed around his paws. Crayton smashed down on the ice, shattering a few pieces and creating a bit more room for movement. The move he had used was called assurance, and the physical attack would help him chip away at the ice.
Once Pluto had finished covering the area in a layer of ice he shot a beam at Crayton's feet and near where he had already broke some. If he jumped to avoid it in any way then he'd land on the slippery surace and if he was to stay where he was then he'd be stuck in the ice. An easy target. Pluto prepared a hydro pump to hit Crayton. To say the least he was enjoying this.
Crayton wasn't about to have the ice beam hit his paws. It would freeze him in place and that wouldn't help him. This is where a risk came in, Crayton jumped right, hit paws landing on the smooth ice, but he had one plan. His paws slid slightly, but his white claws tore into the ice, steadying him. The hydro pump came next, and after steadying himself, he got hit by the rush of water. Crayton, barely managing to escape the current of water mid way through, wasn't done yet. These moves had all been long ranged, and he had a plan to get closer to the mudkip. With his plan in mind, Crayton released a snarl, trying to make the ring loud enough to cause a hesitation in Pluto's movements.
Once the ring was launched, he began to move closer, going in to tackle the mudkip directly. This was a risky trick, but Crayton wasn't about to go down easily.
Crayton's trick had worked. It took Pluto a second to get out of the attack he was in and another to realize another snarl was coming his way. It hit him and he was disoriented just long enough to not be able to get out of the way, but to realize the tackle was coming. Pluto, thanks to the ice was sent sliding away, but he still hurt. He had a little more distance on Crayton now so Pluto got up quickly and another hydro pump, hoping to gain more distance, but not expecting the move to really hit. Pluto had a backup plan if he got too close again.
[the code for my thing is bugging out so im not going to use it.]
A smile was upon the mightyena's face, for his trick had worked and he managed to hit Pluto. However, Crayton knew this wasn't the time to praise himself. He was slipped sideways, and had nearly been thrown of his feet after contact. His claws were making large rips in the ice as he attempted to stop himself from sliding. His claws now stung from the cold and from stopping himself. Once he was stopped, he turned right and saw the hydro pump, but not soon enough to stop himself. He felt the pressure hit him, sending him flying quite far. Once he hit the ground, he barely managed to get himself to his paws, feeling quite weak.
Pluto smiled when his attack worked, but it was bittersweet because he was already feeling feint. He stopped and saw that Crayton had been launched pretty far. Pluto was happy with that, but he was really tired. He wondered how many more attacks Crayton could take.
Crayton was tired, but he was still prepared to fight. He began to move forward, slowly, hoping that he could dodge a few attacks. He wanted to wait for Pluto to attack so he could dash forward and bite the mudkip's fin once more. His paws slipped a little bit on the cold ice, but he kept advancing.
Crayon looked just about as tired as Pluto felt. The mudkip laughed quickly. "Crayon this was wonderful, I think we've proved ourselves. If we continue one of us could feint and that's no fun. So let's call it a draw. I'd be happy to head into a dungeon with you anytime. " Pluto smiled. He had a headache from the other pokemon's screech attack. That hadn't been too fun, but if course the overall battle had been spectacular.
Crayton's muscles relaxed when Pluto suggested that they stopped their spar. He simply nodded in agreement, going towards where his bag was. However, his bag was covered by a layer of ice, which would make it a bit difficult. With that, the mightyena slammed his shadow covered paws around his bag, until it came free. He then slid his bag around his neck, it bumping against his chest. This was just a simple way to put it on, since he could put one of his legs through for it to be secure.
Pluto chuckled as Crayton broke his bag out of the ice. "Whoops sorry. I might have gone overboard with the ice." Pluto chuckled as he wandered over to where Crayton was. With a huff the mudkip sat down and watched his new buddy. At least Pluto hoped they were buddies. He enjoyed the other pokemon. So as long as Crayton was happy with him Pluto would consider them friends. He thought briefly about asking on this topic, but decided that it might be too forward so didn't. There's a time and place for everything.
Crayton shrugged, not really minding that he had to break his bag out of an icy case. "As long as I get my stuff it isn't a big deal," Crayton said. Crayton's eyes scanned in his bag, making sure he had every item was there and in good conditions. His ears just picked up on Pluto's movements, making his eyes glance at his new dungeon buddy. "Nothing is damaged, so it isn't a big deal," Crayton commented, sitting down himself. He was still tired from the battle, which meant that it was unlikely that doing another activity was a good idea. "So, anything you want to talk about?" Crayton asked, not having many ideas in mind.
His black and grey tail wrapped around his paws, hiding his paws. Crayton then let out a large yawn, then sat there silently.
