Well, today was not Beat's day. He had recently been ganged up on by a flock of Staraptor, and was pummeled. If he was facing only one of them, Beat believed he would be able to knock it down, no problem. But it was hard to fight when there's a Staraptor pinning you to the ground and another charging a Razor wind. But he had managed to escape with his stealth skills, and now had strayed off somewhere into the Cloudy Mountains.
Well, Beat quickly put flying to safety as not an option, since his wing was injured and the fog and clouds that covered the mountain range made it hard to navigate in the skies. But he managed to find a small cave in the rough terrain. Taking it as his temporary sanctuary, Beat quickly ran into the cave and secured himself to the ceiling, hanging much like a Zubat would. He kept his eyes halfway open to see if that flock of Staraptor would come back, or if someone else was nearby. if they wanted to pick a fight, Beat would still battle, no mercy.
Hope the Audino clambered into the cave. She was tired. "Where are those berries?" Hope grumbled to herself. She dumped all of her bags onto the floor and rummaged through them. "Swimming gear, nope. berries, nope. extra feet protection, nope. necklace to increase my protect, nope. Where is it?" Hope grumbled. She finally found the giant map to the berries. She didn't notice the Nolvern above.
Beat's piercing yellow eyes which were now wide open locked onto the Audino below. Well, it didn't seem to want to hurt him. To be frank, he was not sure if it even noticed him yet. Looks like he was stealthy even when he was not even trying. Beat considered spooking her for a moment, but he had recently pulled that trick once already today on two other Pokemon, so he really was not in the mood at the moment.
Yawning once, Beat lowered his head a bit, although he still appeared to be unnoticed. It was best to make his presence known to the Audino, since Beat continually viewed himself as one of the strongest Pokemon alive. He was just overconfident like that. Well, better now than never... " Yo. "
Hope was startled by the sudden noise. "Who's there?" Hope asked. She rummaged through her many bags. She found the insta-fire. She rubbed it against the cave. It lit up. "Who's there?" Hope repeated. She noticed the Nolvern above her. "Who are you?" Hope asked, not surprised.
Beat was not in the most trusting of moods at the moment, having been attacked and wounded not too long ago. Upon being asked what his name was, he sat in silence for a few seconds before responding. " ...Name's Beat. " The Noivern replied in a gruff voice, scrunching his nose somewhat. He landed on the ground in front of the Audino, head raised high. He always tried to be the dominant one in all situations, and that obviously was not going to change anytime soon. Despite the cave being rather dark, a few faint bruises and small rips could be seen in Beat's left wing. He seemed to not care much about it though.
Hope noticed that the pokemon's wing was hurt. She went out and gathered a few branches and twigs, she set them down in a pile. She lit them on fire. She quickly extinguished the fire on the torch. She rummaged through her around 20 bags before she found the thing she was looking for. "Aha! Healing powder!" she exclaimed excitedly. She brought out a gigantic gallon of green powder. "Come here." Hope said to the pokemon. She motioned for it to sit in front of her.
Beat tilted his head upon seeing the green powder of sorts. " ...And what do you plan to do with that? " He said, his ears flattening down somewhat. Narrowing his eyes somewhat, Beat considered possibly following this Pokemon's directions, but he was still in a bit of a grumpy mood to say the least. He could just run away now, but he didn't. Probably because leaving the cave might expose him to more hostile Pokemon that would only injure him more.
Hope rolled her eyes. Why was this pokemon so hostile? "To heal you, of course! Do you even know what this is?" she exclaimed. She hopped up and grabbed the pokemon by the ear, dragging him down. "Stay still.." Hope mumbled. She grabbed the powder, ready to apply it.
Beat let out a quick call as the Audino pulled his head down by grabbing onto his ear. He struggled a bit upon being grasped, but the Noivern soon submitted, even though he was not happy about it. Grumbling to himself, Beat was mentally swearing revenge on those Staraptor that ganged up on him.
...But in all honest, his ear was starting to sting a bit now. Sensitive ears are useful, but fragile. However, Beat soon finally accepted the fact that this Pokemon was trying to help him.
Hope, still grasping the ear in case he decided to run off, opened the gigantic gallon of heal powder. She muttered, "Put out your wing," as she scooped up a handful and put it on a ribbon of gauze.
Sighing, Beat held out his injured wing. He did not like submitting to anyone, but he knew he would have to this time in order to get back into fighting shape. 'Twas hitting him right in his massive load of pride. His eyes were half closed, but he appeared to have calmed down significantly. He perked his head up once after he thought he heard a Staraptor's call in the distance, but quickly lowered it back down. Must have been his imagination...
Hope tied the gauze with the powder onto his wing. "Now, don't fly within 24 hours, okay?" she said to him. She got up, rummaged through her backpack, got out a sleeping bag. She went in, and fell asleep.
With a low grunt of sorts, Beat's ears flattened down to his neck as he saw the Audino hop into a sleeping bag as soon as she was done patching up his wing. Well, that happened. Peering out of the cave, Beat managed to see the silhouettes of a few bird pokemon in the skies. Like he had to guess what Pokemon they were. Well, he was in no fighting shape and Beat was not sure if this Audino was a fighter or not. With a quick Dragon Pulse, Beat knocked a few rocks down, then used them to block the entrance of the cave. Nobody would be getting hurt on his watch.
After that, Beat quickly hooped up and attached his talons to the ceiling once again. A few calls echoed outside of the cave, but that did not appear to be any of Beat's concern. He closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep again, sometimes opening one eye to glance at the Audino.
Beat's eyes snapped open upon hearing some all too familiar calls. Man, how long are these guys going to chase him. Well, there were plenty of Mystery Dungeons in the mountains, and most of the pokemon in there were hostile. It was sort of expected that there would be some vicious pokemon here and there.
But Beat quickly took action, springing forward and sending some of the birds flying back with a Boomburst. " Well, please tell me you're at least somewhat good at fighting. These are the guys that pummeled me yesterday. Don't underestimate them. " The noivern stated as he began to raise his wings to launch a Hurricane attack.
